Smelly water after 3 days

Are you using the on board tank? If so you need to sanitize...

If you are in a park and seasonal you need to make sure the campground is not on a well..

If a well you needs to sanitize often...

Bacteria

I assume you are talking about water from your onboard tank. Bacteria growth can cause the problem. Did you fill your tank from a chlorinated water supply or from a well?

Suggest you dump water, sanitize tank and make sure that when you refill you put some chlorine in the tank.

Hooked up to the parks water line. Had used an On-the-go water softener but still had the problem. Don't know if getting a whole house filtering system would help or even getting a RO system. Could the problem possibly come from the Blue RV Drinking water hose? I know when I used the cheap White hose, scum would build up so started to replace them 2-3 times a year but the hose was out in the direct sun, while 90% of the Blue one is hidden under the RV except for 5 foot each end. Or do I go for PVC drinking water quality pipe and just use a couple of foot of hose going into the RV?

I agree, most likely bacteria. you need to drain completely, flush completely and then fill and sanitize. Bacteria isn't a good thing to mess with. If you are not sure how to accomplish this, get with your local RV shop. You can get enough advice, suggestions and such form here, but we all have our own methods and for most they all work fine and are safe, but you need to be sure for you. Here is mine: we keep fresh water in our tanks all the time, this is from city water that is treated and has chlorine. This way bacteria doesn't or at least shouldn't grow. If we don't use our unit at least once per month, the tank get drained and refilled, and of course all the components get flushed thoroughly. We use a 10% bleach water solution, and make sure we clean our hose, spigot etc. whenever we hook up anywhere, including at home. I also when filling while on the road, make sure I put 1/4 of the bottle of bleach solution, which is about a pint into the fill hose which ends up in the tank. This keeps the fill hose clean and also makes sure I get the little bit of extra chlorine in the tank. In over 15 years we have never had an issue with smelly or bad water and never got sick. The only issue we had once was a bit too much chlorine and we smelled a bit of it, but soon was gone. Be careful of leaving the tank empty as bacteria grows with air and warm temps as well. My guess is the plumbing system got contaminated with some sort of bacteria. Do you leave the rig for a few days and then return? If so maybe taking the hose off and letting drain while you are away would help. Any event you need to sanitize your plumbing AND get a water analysis of the water from the spigot. The inbound water could be contaminated specially if it is well water and not city water

I'd suggest just an under sink RO system, like a Watts 315.

But, like other posters have suggested, sanitize your water system with bleach: 1/2 cup per 15 gallons of your water tank capacity. Then let it sit for at least an hour.

No question it is bacteria. Bite the bullet and get the disenfection kit from CW or somewhere else. Follow the instructions and flsuh flussh with filtered water. The blue filter for the white caannisster at CW is pretty well spectd.
You can find better spec ceramic filters, more costly on the internet. Get one with silver in the carbon bloc or other core. The silver kills bacteria. Get a new hose, one with ssilver, in it, if you can find one. there were two or three on the Internet. Be sure to flush your water heater. Never put unfiltered water in your tank.

All good suggestions with regards to the source of the water and possible need to sanitize your fresh water tank. You mention "if rinsing out with hot water." Also consider the tank of your hot water heater and whether you have an anode that needs to be replaced. Seems many of the hot water tanks are getting away from those, but something to check.
