Some Tips for Choosing a Dinghy

Dont tell my two Elements I towed (and still do) for years.

Elements and CRVs share drive trains; identical.

Honda ok'd the 04-05 Elements, then quit after that. Why? Who knows.

I follow "the procedure" and have never had a problem.

I didnt think that Elements were towable. They are not listed on the FMCA list, only CRV's and the fit!

Nice, but very limited. There are MANY more cars out there suitable for towing.

Nice little article. I had to chuckle about the Saturns not being "off road capable", reminded me of when we headed down the road less traveled in our '98 Saturn SL2 and ended up driving on 40+ plus miles of forest service road that at times was deeply rutted, steep or both. The little Saturn didn't like scraping the air dam but it got us there. It has survived both my kids and more than a few bumps and bruises, and with over 160K on the clock and no major engine work it refuses to die. Good car, but like you said, not the best for off-pavement adventures.

Great article. Jeep Wrangler unlimiteds are going for as high as 45000 now for 2017's.

I got a great deal on a like new Cadillac SRX two wheel drive three years ago which are 4 wheel down towable.

Thanks. The CRV is a good choice too, but I prefer having a 4WD while camping.

nicely done. Should be a good help to new RV owners. I would only add the Honda CRV which a lot of people tow. Recent models however are not towable 4 down. I personally prefer the Wrangler which I've towed more than 50,000 miles without a problem.
