Is that cg the ONLY one in the area? Easy moving place to place is what RVs do........

And in your friends case, they should have called the campground they planned on staying at ahead of time. Or never planned on taking the RV in the first place if the "RV is just not big enough." unless that was their only mode of transportation.

What? They have no fresh water tank in their RV to hold them for 1 day.

Colonoscopy "prep" takes more than one day, and it also requires LOTS of water for the bathroom and clean up! No fun at all, and a shear disaster if you don't have water!

We've been fortunate to have never been sick when traveling. Nothing could be worse than to have a stomach flue or something like that going on when on vacation, let alone in an RV of any kind, especially if you have to drive to get anywhere and you're already miserable.

I saw a YouTube video some time ago about the absolute worst RV experience ever. It was a video of a family and one of the kids got sick and barfed, and barfed, and barfed! Everything was a mess! Not to mention the smell they couldn't escape from! Blankets, sheets, floor, walls, you name it! Their vacation was completely in shambles.... what can one do in a situation like that.

I think the OP's friends made the right choice by going somewhere else ... anywhere else to have access to water.

For us, the only time camping was "not the way to go" was when we were happily camping and received word of a death in the family. That definitely put a real crimp in things, and made us wish we'd not gone on that trip at all.

You can be sure that an RV is not the place to prepare for a colonoscopy,tremendous water usage and much throne time,no room for anyone else.You want a hotel room very close to hospital for a very anxious trip to exam site.Don't drive yourself.I have had eight over the years for recurring polyps etc.I know what |I am saying.You certainly can't drive after for a good while till the drugs and forget me not solution clears.Sometimes a day before your mind completely clears.At times you can't quite get to the bathroom in time so messes aren't abnormal.Do not do it in RV.

Yes, an RV is not always the best choice. But for us, it is our first choice when we need to go somewhere over night. We think it through, and make a decision. That's my way of seeing the big picture. Sometimes we RV, and sometimes we go campin'. Two different animals.

We were away this summer, one rv bathroom, 3 adults, a teen and a toddler. Toddler brought stomach flu with him. All but one adult had 24 hours of both ends going, it was hairy for a while, but somehow we managed between the one toilet and plastic bags. No idea how we got lucky that only one person needed the toilet at a time. But still. Never again!

Well, we tried it for about 3-1/2 years. Now, we do both. Obviously, there's something to be said for both.

On a parallel vein, i have been taking chemo for a lot of years. It gives me major 'discomfort' also. I quite often find myself racing to the can. I have tried to not let it interfere with camping. It very inconvenient, but manageable. It is what i call 'fire hose' stuff, 24/7. Sometimes i can't leave our campsite because of this, but that's ok. I would much rather be surrounded by nature, than sitting at home. Sorry if this is tmi.
