Is it OK/Safe to carry some spare fuel in the your truck? We will be on a stretch of highway that has "some fuel stops" but from the looks of them on Google Earth, none that are easy accessed by ...
I have a spare 95 gallon diesel tank in addition to my 36 gallon truck tank. I also keep about 2 to 5 gallons of gasoline in my truck bed for my generators. As long as you do not store the gas inside your RV or your truck you should be OK. I honestly do not think that keeping less than 15 or 20 gallons will not be much help, 5 gallons will only give you about 50 miles. If it were I, I would want at least 100 miles of extra fuel, 150 to 200 miles is even better.
