Is it OK/Safe to carry some spare fuel in the your truck? We will be on a stretch of highway that has "some fuel stops" but from the looks of them on Google Earth, none that are easy accessed by ...

There are some fuel stops between Charleston, WV and Lexington, KY on I64 but they don't look very user friendly to a large truck (gasser) with a 30"TT.

I just make sure to watch for the highway gas signs that have the little emblem for each of the stores on them. When I see one with multiple and can see a few of them right around the exit, I know my chances of having at least one of them with a large enough parking lot and room for me to get in increases. As you approach, do as I do and look for the easiest pull in that will leave plenty of room to exit. The main two considerations are the amount of space after the last pump before you have to start turning and how much room you have to swing wide in prep for that turn. I generally like the isles on the ends for that reason.
