HELP Have a 5ver parked in our yard here in Central Florida. We have a great many squirrels in our area and believe they have been in the camper..chewed toilet paper strewn around. My question: what is good to put out to keep them out of the camper....I know some have said irish spring soap for rodents...will it work in this instance ?

Not true, it's an old myth that because they don't have ears in the conventional sense they are deal, but in fact they 'hear' by vibrations caused by the sound waves.

Snakes hear without ears.

A Black Racer, is smart as a dog and will respond to calls and commands with training. Also Coach whip snakes. They will get any critters around you coach and home. They won't bit but run if not tamed. Even a Rat Snake is pretty docile but will let out a stink if you try to pick it up.
I now Mama told you that all snakes are Rattlesnakes and to not get near one.

Isn't taking small game out of season illegal?
If some judge decides to fine me for dispatching a squirrel that's damaging my property, so be it. I'll do it again next time. I happen to think most law enforcement officials exercise good common sense, YOMV.

Most states make an exception for nuisance animals. Plus no game cop is going to run you in for poaching a squirrel that has set up housekeeping in your RV.

Squirrel season where I live is Aug 26 to Feb 28.

But, in answer to your question, yes.

Here in MI it is most of the fall and winter.

Had a 75 Bluebird years ago and a squirrel chewed his way in thru the refrigerator vent screen, then thru the wall into the rear upper cabinets in the bedroom. The upper cabinets in that era were around the room with 3 separate overdoors just like a 727 pass jet had. He tried to chew his way threw all three doors and the side panels. I know it was a squirrel because we met each other in the main aisle when I went to retrieve the MH out of the barn. The little bugger was a Fox sq. and he had stored over a peck of walnuts in the overhead cabinet! Cost me about 300 hundred in materials and at least 30 hrs. labor! Dave

An air rifle and a good recipe...would be a “two for one”! 😉

This! (I shot a squirrel in my yard today, but a hawk picked him up before I could take a step. You are welcome, Mr hawk.)

I hope you didn’t shoot it with a lead pellet, they are extremely toxic to wildlife, birds especially.

I’m sure it was a steel BB!
