Storage and Slides

I leave the side in when I store may Toy Hauler. Would it be a good idea to back off the slide maybe a inch or so, so the slide gasket is not compressed for months at a time?

I wouldn't. When a slide is slightly out there's often a small opening at the lower corners. Perfect for Mickey to get in.

Most seals, mine are D-bulb, are pretty resilient. I prefer to leave my slides all the way in. I have noticed after long term, they are a little flat, when first opening, but they quickly return to normal shape. My owners manual also says to store with slides in, for long term storage, which I'm sure means all the way in.

we always stored ours with the slides all the way in during the winter months and had no issues. the campers were stored outside. I would always treat them with a seal conditioner before storage. our MH was 9 years old and the original seals were still fine

I should had that my rig is stored out of the weather and no chance of water getting in...

we store our MH with the slides in. lessens the chance of accidental damage by those parked next to us among other reasons.

I don't see any need for it. We store ours for months at a time and the gaskets/seals are still fully functional. You may risk a water leak if the seals aren't working as they are designed.
