Storage and Slides
I leave the side in when I store may Toy Hauler. Would it be a good idea to back off the slide maybe a inch or so, so the slide gasket is not compressed for months at a time?

I wouldn't. When a slide is slightly out there's often a small opening at the lower corners. Perfect for Mickey to get in.
