Has anything like this ever happened to you? I recently replaced my bricks for use under my stabilizers with Lynx Leveling Blocks. There's a fence behind where I park my travel trailer at the storage shelter. I put the bricks behind my travel trailer by the fence. They had been sitting there for about a month. Even though I wasn't using them, and really didn't want them, I noticed today that they were stolen. I think they were taken by the guy two spaces over. There was a stack of bricks behind a tire on his utility trailer, but I'm not 100% sure whether or not they were there before. Is there some unwritten storage shelter rule that if someone leaves something unattended to, still within their parking space, that it's assumed that the item is free for the taking? Another reason why I hate parking my travel trailer at a storage shelter.

Actually, it's called theft.But, you really didn't want them so it's not a big deal.Consider it a learning experience. Do not leave anything of value lay around. If how want it, lock it upor take it home.And remember, you can't fix rude/stupid.

No unwritten rules I am aware of. You simmply got educated on why you should put stuff away. I would love to live in Mayberry. Sadly neither of us do.

I know that two wrongs don't make a right, but I thought about getting the bricks behind the tire of the utility trailer two spaces over, and throwing them over the fence and down the hill. But I'm not 100% sure if he stole my bricks, or if he already had a stack of bricks; even though a part of me feel like it's too much of a coincidence that he has a stack of bricks also. I guess it's possible. That would make me just as bad as the person who stole my bricks. And if the guy two spaces over already had a stack of bricks, then I'm a thief also. I don't want to stoop to their level, but I was pissed about someone coming into my area/parking space and stealing my property whether I wanted the bricks or not.

One has to wonder how much those bricks are worth. My guess is not enough to worry about ;)

Now, rather than rotting away behind your TT they are being useful in their new home.

It's the principal, not the value of the bricks. Like I said before, I didn't want them anyway.

I would not call that "theft". It sounds like you stacked the bricks up, appearing to abandon them. Someone else saw a purpose for them, and since there was no name written on them or they were not locked up, someone took them and put them to use. If it were me, I'd probably do the same thing.

How many times have I surveyed campsites after someone has pulled out and gone to find some small, but delightful surprises they left behind. I've found all kinds of bungie cords, rope, tent pegs, even a monocular once (it's still in my truck and use it more than my binoculars to this day).

So, if something is just left out, stacked up, unclaimed, I think it's available for open grabs, especially if it's abandoned.

The person who took the blocks probably watched for some time to see if they were being used. After some time, of never moving, he/she probably thought,
"I can use them"... so they did!

So you would go onto someone's parking space at a storage shelter and take whatever you wanted if it wasn't bolted down? That sounds like stealing to me.
