My OE china bomb tires were wearing like that too. Not underinflated, not overloaded, alignment was good. I couldn't even see how it was possible to wear them so hard on the outer tread row and barely touch the center section, but it was. I replaced them with Maxxis about 3 years ago and have not seen the same pattern emerge. I think it's mostly junk tires, IMO.

UPDATE- So the tires that were on the RV were " Val Sport LH99". They have 6 nylon cords in them. A quick google search shows a recall in a tire size similar to mine (but not the same exact size).

Anyway, I ordered Greenball Trailmaster tires (I know they arent the best but even they have 4 nylon cords plus 2 steel cords). I also discovered that none of my previous tires were balanced when the trailer was sold to me new. So I balanced all of the new tires, installed them and checked/greased the ball bearings while I was at it.

I have a 1500 mile round trip to the outer banks, NC in June. I'll post an update after the trip.

X2. i had the same issue. put some Maxxis tires on and had them BALANCED and no more crazy tire wear.

Does your trailer run nose high? If so you could be overloading your rear trailer axle. I would start by weighing your trailer axles separately and see where you are at. It could also explain why your previous trailer did it too.

I was talking about this with my wife who was following the trailer on our last camping trip and she stated that it looked like the rear tires were "leaning"

Is the trailer level front to back when hooked up and using the WDH? If so, I'd say the rear axle pre-bend is inadequate and you need it realigned. It may be purely coincidental the same thing occurred with your previous trailer.
