straptek

Has anyone tried the straptek combination weight distribution/sway control available at camping world? If so how did it work for you?
  • I have no experience with them,BUT I don't think I would be scared of them. And I do think that they have already passed the 5 year approval window state by an earlier poster.
Strap and ratchet is a tried and true method for securing cargo.
Did you know that straps are the only method that the DOE approves for securing "Special Weapons" in transit.
  • It's a neat concept for lighter tongue weights and could help keep the weight down. After all, big rigs strap down loads all the time. It could work.

That said, I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig. I'd wait until it was proven technology. If it's still around in 4-5 years, then consider it.
  • You won't find any favorable words here for two reasons:

    1. It's a LIPPERT product. Lippert has dug their own grave with poor quality product in the past, namely trailer frames.

    2. It's *DIFFERENT*. People in a certain demographic just don't like change, innovation, or anything different in general.
  • I don't have any experience with Straptek, but I wouldn't buy it. I may be old fashioned, but I want either metal bars or chains for sway and weight distribution. I'm happy with my Equalizer hitch, but I really like the features of the Blue Ox Sway Pro hitch, especially less exposed grease! I may decide to buy one if I sell a Hensley hitch sitting in my garage!
