I have a lift off wall mount for my TV. I lift mine off and lay it face down on the foam rubber dinette cushion that is nearest to it. I have heard that laying it down on it's face is suppose to be bad for it but, I have been doing it for years with no problems.

Both televisions, on the bed, even though they both have wall mounts. I have quick disconnects.

Was thinking of mounting a flat screen in the center section of the front upper bunk with a long enough arm to swing forward to be viewed from the dining area/ sofa

Both of ours are mounted on swing out mounting brackets like many rigs have them. Haven't had a problem, I just tightened up the pivot bolts so they stay in place.

Not a wise thing to do, I think.
If it is not attached to a wall, then having it on the floor is a better place for it to ride.

But then, bungee cords can do wonders, regardless of where you put it. Might have to mount some attachment points on wall, floor or table though.

On the bed next to the wall and the blanket on top.

Or You can use a ratchet strap to secure it to the table and get some of the non-skid material to put under the TV
