Recent review of Lazy Days RV Park in Florida has the park getting a 1 out of 10. Reason, the reviewer broke their ankle.
Did they break their ankle because the park had carelessly left equipment laying around? No. Was the park at fault because a walkway, stairs or piece of recreational equipment failed? No. Was the floors in the office, store, laundry or bathhouses wet and slick from a spill? Nyet.
The failure of the park...Leaves on a hill BEHIND the reviewer's RV. The reviewer gave no reason why they felt they had to be climbing on the hill, but they apparently felt it was the park's fault that either the hill was there or that their trees drop leaves. And people wonder why there has to be signs everywhere warning people if you do something stupid you might get hurt.

We were talking about this type thing just yesterday. A state Highway we drive 3 times per week has a damaged guardrail because someone ran into it. There were signs out at each end of bridge noting guardrail damage ahead. It’s ridiculous that signs have to be put on both ends, especially from the direction the damage can’t be seen and is on the opposite side of highway. It’s sad what our society has come to.

Nothing new. Our schools and colleges have been teaching people for a generation to blame someone else for every stupid thing they do. Spill coffee, it's McDonalds fault. Trip while walking and texting, who put that curb there, it's always someone else's fault. And the lawyers tell them to look for the deepest pocket.

I figured correctly where this review would be located, and wasn't disappointed it was RVParkreviews. With their rigid system, I'm not sure why they would post such a review - it reeks of idiocy. If CG's started posting rules regulating common sense, no one would come. Next thing the coffee at the Rec center will burn someone because it's hot. I don't think anyone's picking on anyone here - just calling out trolls and idiots.

I don't believe the part about management not being responsive - they just didn't get what they wanted.

I logged in, down voted it and reported my concern. I suggest others do the same.

A couple years ago we had a campsite (State Park) and the picnic table seat was burned .. up. Not just burn spots, but burned up in the middle still supported on both ends by the bolts, but nothing in the middle. Looked like they drug it over the campfire and the seat caught fire in the middle.

Maybe they wrote a bad review when they left for the state park providing faulty fire wood!

State park DNR guys brought us a new table by the way.

So I was intrigued and sought out the review...

First off in the "responsibility" category, why do you feel as if the reviewer owes anyone an explanation for being on the hill. Sounds to me like it was a part of their site. An attitude like this is just as bad as the one you're complaining about.

Secondly, where did it say that the hill was off limits and/or why imply that there was a sign to warn this person (or anyone else) about the danger of being on said hill? Its not like they stated that jumped over the fence, ignored the warning signs, and went on an authorized hike.

Moreover, it sounds to me like the reviewer was more concerned about the lack of a response from management in regards to the incident. Now I would agree that this would be a petty reason for writing such a review, but if you're looking to pick on reviewers for their supposed "lack of personal responsibility", then Amazon reviews are there to offer you months of entertainment.

On a related note, I slipped and fell on multiple occasions (didn't learn my lesson the first time) on some slicked algae-covered cross-ties at a campsite in the mountains a few years ago. I didn't write a review or complain to management, but a quick hit with a pressure washer would have solved the problem and lasted for several months. The next year we returned to the same site to find all the cross-ties had been replaced with new, clean lumber.

Some people have more common sense that you think. Many will read that and have the same response as everyone here-what a moron. Hopefully those that DO share the reviewer's attitude won't go to the park. Less chance of more lawsuits.

We stay at Lazy Days resort quite a bit. It's a great place with very nice people. Some people can never be happy.
