Tandem Tow Dolly

I have started doing some research on the tandem tow dolly. We have a golf cart and Kia that I would like to be able to tow at the same time. My question is does anyone have any experiences with this tow dolly.
  • Yeah, 60/40 on the split between axle and tongue would be about right. Golf carts are what, 500lbs? If you had something 1500lbs on there I'd say watch yourself, but with just a golf cart, the typical Class A receiver has plenty of capacity.

Empty, it looks like it would have plenty of tongue weight to me though. The wheel pockets for the toad look to be slightly ahead of the axle so even if the platform is empty it should be a stable tow with the toad on too.
  • Here is what I found in a quick Google search.

It looks like you will have to unload it to park the RV. It will put a lot of load on the RV hitch while holding a 1,500 pound golf cart in front of the trailer axle, as much of the weight will be on the hitch ball, with only about 60% on the trailer tires. Having weight behind the tow dolly tires will help reduce hitch weight. However if you ever tow without the load on the platform, I would hope there would be adequate weight on the hitch. If less than say 100 pounds on the hitch, it can become unstable. Putting a spare tire or two on the hitch can produce positive hitch weight, and stabilize things. .

    Good luck,

    Fred.
  • I have one. It looks like a regular tow dolly except that the hitch is much sturdier and extended. A platform is mounted on the hitch onto which you can drive an ATV golf cart or in my case a motorcycle sideways. If it wasn't raining I would get a picture.
