telescoping ladder questions

I am getting tired of dragging the old step ladder around. I am wondering what peoples thoughts are about the telescoping ladders?

Are they stable enough to climb up and wash the bugs off the front cap of a FW?

Do they leave marks or scratches on the gel coat?

I notice prices from $59 to over $400. I don't need a gold plated one, just something useable.

I know everyone sells them, but where could I get a good one at a great price?

Thanks,

Jerry
  • we've been using one shown in the link above for over 10 years .... ours is a 10'er, it was fine back when we had a TT and can still do OK using it with our 5er .... if I had to do it over again I'd go with a 14' or longer .... the ends of the ladder have rubber caps which work well in helping protect whatever it is leaned up against .... when the sides of the ladder are against the camper's surface I use bumpers made from pool noodles

  • we have Extend-A-Step 12.5ft
light weight, stores easy, easy to use

looks just like the one in the metal tech link
  • Thanks for the response guys!

I ordered the Extend-A-Step 12.5, and was hoping it would be here today. If anyone is interested it was on sale for $149 which included a canvas carry bag, plus free shipping.
