Texas RV Lemon Law Info

If anyone has been successful in using the Texas Lemon Law on an RV could you contact me by PM? Moderators, if this is in the wrong section feel free to move it. Thanks
  • Thanks to all for you input and the PM's I have received. Yes RV's (including non-powered) are covered under the Texas Lemon Laws. Ours is still under warranty until May and has been into a dealer and worked on by a mobile tech approved by Heartland for the same issues several times. As of today we have been out of our unit for 9 days while major work is being done. I do not want to list all the issues we have had here but the list is long with two repairs I consider major for a less than two year old unit. We will be seeking legal input this week. Thank again.

Can't say specifically about Texas, but most States, Lemon law ONLY applies to automobiles and even then there are plenty of hoops to jump through.. One of them is the vehicle MUST have been returned multiple times for the SAME REPAIR..

It is a RV, find another dealer if your dealer is unable to correct things the way YOU want them..

Otherwise fix and it and sell or trade for a different RV.. Yes, you WILL take a bath but with RVs that IS part of the game we play.

    On edit..

A quick Internet search yielded the Texas DMV for information..

You should find all the answers you need.

Does the Texas -or any other state's- Lemon Laws apply to RVs..:@

None that I've ever heard of and certainly not one w/o an engine like a TT.
Still my "knowledge base" is basically NE centric so maybe something is going on in other areas of the country that I'm not aware of.

I will say that given the time frame of most states' vehicle lemon laws there is a good chance that the RV manufacturer's warranty is still in effect assuming it's a new purchase not a second or more owner purchase. Hope this makes sense.
