The Eagle has landed.

While this is not RV oriented, the DW and I take great pride in taking our DGKs everywhere we could before their lives became too filled with college and other pursuits. While we made sure they had enough kid time, they had certain duties and they accepted them willingly and did a good job fulfilling them.

Last night was our DGS Eagle Scout Board of Review. His goal for the last two years had been to complete his Eagle workbook and pass review before he turned 16. Last night he reached his goal about three weeks before his 16th birthday.

The reviews are scheduled for 50 minutes and the chairman of his Board told us when we were invited in to hear their decision, he said that in fifteen minutes they had reached their decision, but they were so impressed with what he was saying that they let him talk for another 25 minutes.

Niel Armstrong never answered the question "what he meant when he said, "The Eagle Has Landed", was he talking about the landing module, which he got to name, or was he talking about Niel Armstrong the Eagle Scout.

Well our Eagle has landed and we are so proud and we like tho think that those camping trips with Nana and G-Dude helped.

Sorry about the goof, Armstrong was the first man there and he named the module and uttered the quote.
  • Absolutely fantastic. We certainly need more young people like your grandson.
  • Broadening his horizons had to be useful, at least we hope so as we travel with our crew. Congrats!
  • Hey! Granpa Bishop
Job well done. And a big thank you to Granma also.
Nice to see good people with good kids. Tell his folks thanks for giving society a positive light.
