The New Set-Up

So, after a difficult decision to ditch our SUV and "start over" with an F150, we have now brought our TT out of storage mode, and we're raring to go! I towed it for the first time this morning, and everything was excellent! I loved hearing the power of that 5.0L Coyote engine as it dug into the hills. I think this is going to be great! I drove it about 50 miles in all, taking it to a nearby RV shop for a free NYS inspection and a general "going over" by the pros. The dashboard fuel gauge tells me that I averaged about 11 MPG during that time. I'm pleased with that. My self-installed Prodigy brake controlled operated flawlessly. The WDH seems to be well balanced.

We're heading out on our first camping trip of the season in a few days. I'm psyched!

    That's surprising. My experience was different. My F150 OEM tires still had over 4/32" tread remaining when I replaced them at 75,000 miles. I bought some more. I'm quite satisfied.







    You got the Michelin tires on your truck. My 2011 F-150 came with Goodyear Wranglers. I thought they would be a good tire. I was wrong. Now I have Hankook tires. I hope they are better.

    That's true. I purchased a 2011 F-150 last summer with very low miles. At 20000 miles I had a belt break in one of the tires this spring. The factory tires are junk.

    I can do a little better then 11 with my set up which is similar to yours. But, you have to keep your foot out of the Coyote,, that's not easy.

    Sorry I don't. It is then some kind of residue that has run down your pipe on the outside during cold weather when the outside air temp has condensed the vapors going up the pipe. i will not burn wood unless it had been cut, split, and stacked for close to s year. maybe a test attempt with something like simple green.

    Yeah, but it's not rust. Any tips on how to clean it?

    BTW did you notice how rusty your chimney pipe base was and how the rust is bleeding down the roof? Just checking since i heat with wood also but put the binocs on the chimney pipe annually.
