Good point. It looked bent to me at first. But, now that you made me look closer the cab to bed gap looks OK, as you said. It's not bent it's just over loaded.

Not sure why though. That trailer, empty, shouldn't be that heavy. That's one of the older ones designed to be pulled by a station wagon.

Sport trac sits on a Ranger frame and not the explore frame. Mine was rated 5500 4x4 with the 4.0. Cant recall the payload but it was a nice truck for boat towing.
Ditto for my 05. Even pulled my car trailer a couple of times for short distance.

They should have a Jeep. A Jeep can pull anything.

+10 for the bad Photoshop image.

Poppin_fresh, I can assure you that this is NOT photo shopped as you think. My husband took this photo with his cellphone. I am not into drama and wouldn't post fake pictures.

Can somebody tell me what has actually happened here? The springs broke? The frame?

It seems to me that the transmission would have given out before the frame.

The major weight of the horse trailer would have been on the trailer tires

, right?Thanks,MM.

No...it would be 4 horses or even more at 1,200 lbs.each inside scrambling. :W

This cargo moves! I often pull a four place slant horse trailer with my MH. You KNOW it's back there when they start moving around. I.E. scrambling.

My question is not answered.... what has happened to the truck?

Thanks,
MM.

That's a severely bent frame.

No, this is steel. I'm guessing the aluminum trucks will be stronger and lighter since they are rated higher. There's a reason aluminum is the number one metal used in engines and wheels.

If this is a typical example of a steel bed, it's no wonder Ford is switching to aluminum.
