tips for pregnant wife

We started full-timing before our daughter was born, and my wife ended up having a c-section due to a late complication.

Good hand-hold for the stairs.
An extra step that can also help her get in/out of your truck or up to the first step into the trailer. I got this for her and it worked fine.

Air conditioning. She could overheat easily, but the A/C in our trailer made it completely comfortable for her.

Thanks guys. obviously not forcing anything. She likes going now that we have the camper and is looking forward to having the time off work. not looking to make her do anything only advise on how to make her more comfortable. tips like the chair or the stair rail are good (we have a good chair for her but the stair rail I never would have thought of)

Also shes off work because she works in a medical facility. low impact is her restrictions (as opposed to bedrest or something) meaning no running and jumbing. walking is good for her.

What is lower impact - her work, or a camping trip? What is the possibility of her complication becoming an issue while away?

Naturally, we don't know your wife but for some women camping = work, especially with a two-year-old.

She's 7 months pregnant. You might give her a few choices as to what would be relaxing for her. Since she's been working perhaps just staying home would be welcomed. Get a sitter and take her out to some nice quiet restaurants. Things are going to be hectic in a couple months. :)

How about renting a cabin with a lake view or a very nice hotel stay?

Do whatever Mom's comfort level dictates. In other words, let her be the guide. Pregnant women can be a lot stronger than many give them credit for.

Well, no doubt you and your wife and still fairly young! BUT, there's nothing wrong with just hanging out at the camp site, sitting around a camp fire, propping up your feet, smores, hot dogs over the fire, and bring the television outside and just relax and vegetate and enjoy the camper and being away from home. Nothing wrong with that at all. You DON'T ALWAYS have to just "go, go, go! perpetual motion!" Take this time to just relax and enjoy each other's company, communicate, laugh, and just love each other! Simplicity and a sense of your undivided attention is what she needs more than anything else!

I camped until I was about 7 months along. Balance is one of the key things to watch out for. And accessibility to rest rooms! :) I was still hiking and canoeing at that stage but my weight gain was minimal due to having gestational diabetes early on. Take it slow, don't do anything strenuous or that requires a lot of stamina. We call it "puttering" which we often do now. Stroll around some shops, poke around a flea market, let your 2 year old run amok in the playground while your wife sits and watches you chase her, play games at the camper, sit under a tree and read to your little one (and the unborn baby), and just relax. Make sure you can take frequent breaks if your wife needs them. As long as you aren't putting her health or that of the baby's in danger and you have the doc's approval, just go enjoy yourself but be aware of the limits you might encounter. Worst case is you have to go home early. BTW, I was still tent-camping at that point, and our last trip was to the Canadian Maritimes just before the campgrounds closed for the year. It can be done.

She needs a good hand-hold for going up/down the trailer steps. The weight out in front messes with your balance and makes it easier to fall.

She needs a good seat outside, with a place to prop her feet up. The folding chairs with cloth seats will be very hard for her to get out of. Check at Lowes or some other big box store for something good. You may have to haul it in the bed of the truck, but it will be worth it.

Instead of asking a bunch of strangers on the internet that no nothing about her or her condition, why not just talk it over with her. If she says "no", ain't going to matter what we'all say.

for sure. my daughter went first at 3 months and again at 5. more times last year. not worried about the daughter or the will be newborn son. worried about the heavily pregnant wife (not so much worried she does great more want to make things as enjoyable as possible for her)
