Tire Brand Question

My TT came from the factory with a set of 4 Transmaster ST225/75-R15 load range D tires installed on it. After 4k miles, the wear on 2 them (rear axel) is evident on the outter edge only and to be safe I want to replace them. In response to recommendations obtained on my previous post, I have had the axel checked to make sure it wasn't bent, alignment was OK and the trailer tow is level. The local tire store (Les Schwab) has Gladiator ST-225/75-R215 load range E tires as possible replacements. Anyone have any experience with either the factory installed Transmaster Brand tires that came with the trailer or the Gladiator Brand ST Tires that are possible replacements.
  • Tell Les Schwab that you want Maxxis 8008 ST tires. They will can order them for you. Les wanted to sell me whatever Chinese tire they had on hand, but I insisted on Maxxis and they said, "No problem."
Two days later they were on my TT.
    (get them balanced also)
  • I got my Maxxis from Les also. I haven't heard of the Gladiator. What kind of warranty do they come with? My experience is Les backs up what they sell. Good luck.

X3 Les wanted to sell me Gladiators also. Almost bit. The guy behind the counter said that they were great and hardly any comebacks. Told the guy to order the Maxxis. He did and two days later they were on my trailer.

Are the Gladiators good tires? I don't know and likely never will because I only have 5K on my Maxxis but they still look like new.
  • Maxxis or Goodyear Marathons were the only 2 tires that I considered. I ordered the Maxxis tires from discounttiredirect.com and had them shipped directly to me. Woulda been easy-peasy except for UPS not delivering 1 of the 4.

Local tire shop mounted them but wouldn't balance them and I didn't know enough to push it. :(

Take it to Discount tire and have them balance the tires.
