I've found one big disadvantage of using different brands on one axle is the tread pattern. If a similar tread pattern no big deal but if the tread pattern is too different you may get one tire with superior braking and the other sliding...especially on wet pavement. This action will flat spot a tires tread in a hurry.
On dry roads no big deal. On wet roads just be aware of too much gain on the brake controller and the tire with the poorest traction will usually slide first.
