Just finished laying down my uncovered outdoor gravel parking pad.(3/4" Bluestone with smaller fines in it)I was going to put down a few plywood strips and get some rubber mats to keep the tires on.Then I thought what about composite or pvc deck boards?They shouldn't retain moisture or ever rot.However, I read some folks like the rubber b/c it gives a bit of softness under the tires and may help prevent flat spot memory. What do you think?

goodyear Black rubber may not be a good idea as Goodyear says not to store tires long term on black asphalt or on white sand or snow. My trailer sits in a shed on so the sun can't reach them with 1 1/2" crusher run limestone.....with wood under the tires.The sun kills rubber. edit to add Tireman9 recommendations....http://www.rvtiresafety.net/search/label/Winterize

Okay good idea.

My tires are on some scrap wood so they don't sink in the mud. Like to have some gravel delivered and be done with it.

Even if they did flat spot (which they don't), putting them on some other flat surface sure wouldn't keep them from doing so.

I park our Toy Hauler in the side yard for the winter. I position 18 x 18 patio blocks three per side under the tires. I have been doing this for years without issue. My cover is low enough to cover the tires so sun isn't an issue. I also agree that modern radial tires do not flat spot.
