We are buying a 2014 CVR Honda and plan on pulling 4 down at times. Any advice I should now about buying a tow system? We have 2007 Discovery coach and am quite ignorant about tow bar systems. I suppose like a lot of things there are a lot of different opinions. Thanks in advance for any information.:)

I also like the Ready Brute Elite. The cheapest price I could find for it was $1,050. Lots of people mentioned that it might be cheaper online, but I couldn't find any. But it is still worth the price!

I'm another happy Ready Brake and Ready Brute user after several failures with an electronic braking system (US Gear).

ReadyBrute/ReadyBrake is the least expensive set up including braking. Simple design to make it inexpensive, but works very well. It is the only system that is closed loop, meaning the proportional braking system is variable based on demand. Most other systems are not truly proportional. Some are variable but not proportional. All systems are surge type, except for the ones that tie directly into the coach brakes.
Actually, one can get the Blue Ox Alpha tow bar with integral AutoStop surge braking for $655. The Blue Ox Aladdin tow bar with integral AutoStop surge braking is as little as $871. You may be able to find the Ready Brute Elite for a little under $900 on sale.

Thanks everybody for the info. The Ready Brute system looks interesting and couldn't really find any bad reviews beside the ones improperly installed systems.:)

I tow a 2013 CRV-EX. I have the Blue OX Aventa II. It is a 10K lb rated tow bar. The base plate is also Blue OX. I like it because the tow bar stays on the rear of the coach when you unhook. I hate the way the tow bars look when they stay on the front bumper of the toad. IF you happen to bump into somebody, there goes the tow bar and about eight hundred dollars.

Blue Ox baseplate and towbar. Brakebuddy for the braking system. Has worked for thousands of miles fulltiming.

Have a nice Blue Ox system, but no brakes because my tow car is so light.

Actually, you want the "Dinghy Towing" forum.

I second the ReadyBrute integrated tow bar/braking system. The ReadyBrake system can be used with ANY tow bar, if you already have one.

We have the Blue Ox Aventa tow bar, Blue Ox base plate, Blue Ox rock guard, and an SMI Stay-In-Play Duo braking system. We have been very happy with this set-up.
