Tow dolly weight question
let's say a tow dolly has a max carry weight of 3000 lbs. Is that weight of the TOTAL vehicle being towed or of that part which is ON the dolly itself. Always wondered about this.. just curious. Thanks and happy camping.

- I'm just going to guess - but I'm guessing "Carry" means exactly that, the weight it's carrying. But in reality, there is only one place you can get the real answer, and it aint on this forum.
- look at the tires to see what weight each will carry and x by two. that will tell you what the dolly will carry. Carry the key word. It is not "carrying" the whole car, just the one end. Just like the tires on a trailer or fifth wheel, the tow vehicle carrys some of the weight so all is not on the tires.
- To be certain.... call the manufacturer.
