Dolly Question

Have an American Car Dolly, and have only used it 2 times for short trips.
There seems to be plenty of room between the fenders for my car, but I am a little concerned about turning really sharp corners.
The tongue on the dolly turns as it should, but if I were to turn right or left out of my driveway it looks like the fenders are getting really close to the car.
Any cause for concern on my part??
Thanks for any thoughts. Mike
  • Put some masking tape where you think the fenders will rub. This won't protect the car if there's serious rubbing, but it should tell you if there's minor rubbing and then you can figure out what to do about it.

  • Put the car on the dolly and manually turn full left and right then you will know.
  • It depends on the width of the car. We tow a Town and Country van that total width is 78in. that leaves little room left side to side. When we turn sharp corners the fenders of the dolly and the vans door meet. In fact we have matching dents to prove it. It does not take much of a corner to bring the two together.
