- Curly2001Explorer IIGM is making long life pads now for their trucks. I had over 135,000 miles on the OEM pads on my 2007 2500HD when I sold it. I would look at the OEM pads.

I'm not exactly sure what "carbon-fiber ceramic pads" are, but that's what the PowerStop Z36 brake pad/rotor package comes with and so far after almost 3 years, they are performing great!
Zero brake dust, stops very well, have not warped the rotors like the OEM ones did after a couple of years.
Good luck! Mitch
just put the z36 on my wrangler - Cummins12V98Explorer III

OEM is always good. I like EBC semi-metallic.
NOT cheap but neither am I. :B
Excellent pads and rotors. - JIMNLINExplorer IIII frequent RV and haulers websites.
Ask the same question on a haulers web and we get about a 95 percent semi metallic shoes and pads. The biggest issue for this type of work is premature wearing out and dust. Running down the interstates every day we may make several panic brake events. With 6k-7k lbs of hitch weight in the bed and a 18k-20k+ loaded GN trailer pushing we find out quick what pad material works better.
I realize a truck that just carries a TC doesn't have this type braking issue (80k-100k miles a year) so some may find the HD semi metallic isn't needed. - Grit_dogNavigator

MOST of those debates are directed towards the RV pads.....
And? - My OEM rotors are 20 years old and 205,000 miles.

Semi Metallic are great for truck and RV towing,
Expensive but best pads I have ever used for trucks EBC Orange Towing and Yellow for RV. - OEM is always good. I like EBC semi-metallic.
