Tow Vehicle Brakes

GM is making long life pads now for their trucks. I had over 135,000 miles on the OEM pads on my 2007 2500HD when I sold it. I would look at the OEM pads.

Excellent pads and rotors.

I frequent RV and haulers websites.
Ask the same question on a haulers web and we get about a 95 percent semi metallic shoes and pads. The biggest issue for this type of work is premature wearing out and dust. Running down the interstates every day we may make several panic brake events. With 6k-7k lbs of hitch weight in the bed and a 18k-20k+ loaded GN trailer pushing we find out quick what pad material works better.

I realize a truck that just carries a TC doesn't have this type braking issue (80k-100k miles a year) so some may find the HD semi metallic isn't needed.

My OEM rotors are 20 years old and 205,000 miles.

True Ceramic Are not good for truck or RV towing application. A lot of pads if you look closely are described as “ceramic like”.

Semi Metallic are great for truck and RV towing,

Expensive but best pads I have ever used for trucks EBC Orange Towing and Yellow for RV.

OEM is always good. I like EBC semi-metallic.
