Towing difference?

I would like to know if anyone can tell me if there would be much difference in towing an 8000 lb trailer or a 7000 lb trailer . My truck is a 2013 f250 gasser and I have the equalizer weight distribution hitch. there is less than a foot difference in length.

Went from a 27ft 7100# trailer to a 34ft 9200# trailer, and feel that it tows just as well, if not better!! Feels more steady, extra weight doesn't seem to have loaded down the Ex even on high (8000') passes!!

Geez, I should have seen that. You will hardly notice the difference for most driving. High mountain passes cut the power for gas engines, so it will be noticeable there most likely. My 1 ton 7.3 works pretty hard dragging 9300 in the fifth wheel, sometimes second gear up hills. Once even first gear, but that is the steepest highway in BC.

It's not quite that easy. What you are talking about can be over the towing limit, or just under. You are loaded to the max, and without knowing what it is you really have in mind, the towing is not going to be fun.

If you are talking a fully loaded trailer, versus an empty one, you have to really see if you can put the combined weight together, with the heavy hitch, and whatever you take with you in the truck and the trailer.

Check the charts yourself, learn about your read end ratio, your wheelbase, 4 by 4 or regular.

It won't be fun, that much is for sure. Going to feel like a heavy load.

You can add close to a 1000 lbs just by running with full tanks on a lot of trailers. I doubt you would notice much more than a very small difference.

Unlikely you would notice much difference unless there were significant aerodynamic differences or weight distribution differences.

Depends on what you are going to haul in the trailer.
A F250 can pull 12,500 lb with the 3.31 or 3.55 and 15,000 lb with the 3.73
Either with the 6.2L or 6.7L engine.
1,000 lb difference may make a .1 loss or less in MPG

All other things being equal, I doubt you'll notice any difference.
