Thousands of people do this everyday, mostly in the south and Midwest. I pulled a small boat behind a TT for years with no problems, then a fifth wheel and then behind the Jeep hooked to my MH. I see this everyday in Arkansas and Missouri with boats, ATVs and golf carts, never saw one wrecked or stop by LEO. I have even seen Jeeps on a towbar behind fifth wheels. Make sure you get a good hitch that attaches to the frame, not the bumper and go have fun. I see racks on the back with generators on them, a thousand pound trailer will put less stress than that on the frame. Even spare tires and bike racks would probably be as much as a small trailer.
