TPO roof coating

I am puzzled as to why there seems to be a lot of differing opinions as to roof coatings to use on a TPO roof membrane. I have done a lot of searching, and have read articles that state some TPO roofs have different formulations when produced between certain years, and others, that go by date of maufacture as to what roof coatings are compatible...etc... What my ultimate goal is, is to put eternabond on all seams and openings and then go over the entire roof with a good coating. The coach part of the RV was built in 2007. That makes the TPO membrane 10 years old. I am not the original owner of the rig , so i do not know much of the PM that may have been done by the PO. My local RV dealer stated that they use Hengs coatings on all the roofs they coat. But i cant get a straight answer from hengs about tpo roofs..... Ugh

Not me. I enjoy reading and discussing all the different opinions. I learn too. About 15 regular posters are exceptional in their knowledge and logic.

Because there were variations of TPO membrane used on some trailers in the mid to late 2000s. Jayco for a time used a fleeced back version that ultimately proved to be problematic and the company eventually switched back to EPDM. Dicor also discovered that their self leveling lap sealant which works beautifully with EPDM would bubble with some variations of TPO and in addressing this issue the company came up with a 2-part variation suited for use with TPO. Visit the Dicor website for more info.
