Trailer Aid Plus bolts?

Question

Just received my Trailer Aid Plus in the mail today.  Anyone have any idea why there are 4 bolts sticking out of the bottom?  I can't imagine they are doing anything and want to remove them.  Just want to make sure they aren't actually there for a reason before I take them off.

To keep it from sliding on the ground when you drive up onto it. Nice concept but most of the bolts sheered off the first time I used it. It was also the last time I used it.
