  • I remember seeing that video last year when it happened. Unfortunately it's all too common to see people towing "badly".
  • It all comes down to ignorant or uncaring people. I started towing shortly after I could drive which was 50 years ago. Started out towing a utility trailer, then a boat trailer, then a pop up and now on our 4th travel trailer. I am always reading to educate myself. A few years ago I saw a pop up trailer go over a railroad track and came off the hitch. Fortunately, they did have the safety chains which kept the trailer from detaching from the vehicle. I helped the driver get it back on the hitch and gave him a 1/4" bolt and nut to put in where the hitch pin should go and told him to buy a hitch pin as soon as possible. he had no idea.
  • I agree that towing trailers safely is good . People that purchase or rent trailers should be taught how to do it safely by the dealer.

But,,, that is one of those paparazzi type shows and videos that made me quit watching TV in the first place. For starters, when she talks about "this pin" is a very important piece of safety equipment she doesn't even have the trailer latched onto the ball before she insets the pin !! There are bunches of other problems with the video. It is just click bait and a TV show designed to scare people for no reason.
