Bought our TT in March & have only taken it out one weekend but have an 8 day trip planned next week. We got into the TT this morning but when we tried to get back in a couple hours later the deadbolt key would not turn to unlock it. We were locked out. We are PANICKING! We tried hubby's and my keys & hubby finally broke his key in the lock. Got it out but hubby had to drill the whole lock out. We look online and figure he has to drive to Camping World tomorrow - 1-1/2 hours round trip - & see the price is right at $91.00. Then I Google RV locks & came up with RV Locks & More. They had the same lock for $19.95 and even with next-day shipping, they beat CW price (plus it would have cost us gas). We actually went with their $35.00 lock that was only keyed to our keys - even the master lock - so no one else will have the same key & even the dealer will not have the same master lock. We are very happy with RV Locks & More (no, I do not work there or anyone in our family) and will get our door locks on Tuesday.
The door lock in question must be the bulk buy of Keystone TT, the lock is a Global, the dead bolt barrel was easy to drill out, made of aluminum, it was a bit scary as in easy to do, but I was glad it was not hardened steel. New door lock should arrive tomorrow, get home and fit new lock.
I was up at a surplus store a few weeks ago. I heard a guy looking for a door lock key. They had a bin full of odds and ends keys. When he asked about a new door, they had a bunch without keys. Seems every time the factory lost the keys they toss the door and sell them to the surplus shops.

I had a lock jam on a previous camper that I own. The camper was only about 6 months old and the deadbolt would not open. I found out from a locksmith friend of mine about a universal trailer door key that fits all travel trailers and campers. A flat blade screwdriver and vice grips the lock is bad and will need replaced and they are made so cheap that all you need to do is insert the flat blade screwdriver into slot and turn with the vice grips. After being locked out once I always have a universal camper key with me.
