On a highway job a few years ago. Every morning the subcontractor doing curbs and driveways would put out cones and start work early. For about two weeks the same car came through each morning and deliberately ran down the cones. The crew turned a cone upside down and filled it with concrete. Weighed about a hundred and twenty pounds.
Smart ass wanted somebody to pay for the bumper that got ripped off, but all of the witnesses said he must have hit a tree. Nobody could fine the cone.
Some people did similar when someone kept slaloming them around where I live. I'd love to see the look on the guy's face who came in to complain about the damage to the car to the local police being arrested for willful state/Federal property destruction.
Same with the larger "garbage can" barricades. People would hit them, but when a few had a pile of sandbags mysteriously appear underneath, the hitting stopped.
