wa8yxm - Thank you, it didn't cross my mind that the system siphon backwards. I will have to keep this in mind.
Soundguy - I've seen your posts and pix of you home dump station. It's what I would LOVE to do but haven't figured out how yet.
Thanks for all suggestions. However, I don't understand some of the comments of "make it easy, just put a clean out in". Well, maybe it's easy at your house but it sure isn't at mine!
1. My clean out is in the basement floor, ~1/2 buried in concrete.
2. I have a concrete front porch that I'd have to dig under or cut through and then dig up the driveway to be able to run a sewer line to where the RV is.
3. I live in the northeast (NYS) and my sewer line is at least 8 feet under ground so I can't tap into that.
4. I don't have a clean out in the yard.
5. I don't have any drains in my garage. My understanding is that it's illegal
to have garage floor drains in NYS and it would be darn near impossible to install one now.
The whole point if this is to make it more convenient to dump. At almost every campground I've been to they have a dump station and I almost always use it. However, there are often long lines/waits and I can't flush out my black tank because ... the wash hose at the dump station has some weird brass end that prevents you from screwing it to your RV and/or the line it too long behind me and I don't want to be "that guy" holding everyone else up.
So, dumping, or cleaning out, at home is VERY CONVENIENT TO ME! Yes, I can drive all over Kingdom Come, and even further, to find a dump station. I know of several "near" by (about a 30 mins drive). However, I could be almost done dumping at home before I even got close to any of those places.
thanks,
