vibration/noise on incoming water

There is a loud noise when ever we flush or run water. It is the loudest when we flush.

Any idea what's going on?

It almost sounds like air in the line but there are no leaks

Thanks
  • Are you hooked up to 'city water' ?

City water connection has an internal check valve....they will chatter when they are failing or have minerals built up on them.

X 2, this is the answer. Mine does it too but has not failed yet.
  • Shut off your outside supply, then try the same thing using only your onboard water tsnk. If you still have the noise---check your hot water tank CHECK VALVE.
  • Just this past weekend, we had a similar problem. Vibration and noise when city water turned on more that a quarter turn. Didn't solve the problem until I removed the brass water regulator. No problem rest of weekend with absence of regulator.
