Water life

I usually dump and drain everything when I get back from a trip and then fill up the fresh tank again before I leave.

I'm on a well so don't have chlorinated water. I'm sure city water would hold up better.

That's what we do. But our water is chlorinated also. Just dump it when not in use. I put a little water in the tank to travel with if we have water hook ups, and if not, I just fill up when I get to the campground.

X-2, or 3, we do the same,I'm on a well also, don't have chlorinated water, & don't want it, don't like drinking Clorox.

We are weekenders and from spring through fall we regulate it like a fuel tank.

Same with me. Water that has ben treated by a municipal water department has a small amount of residual chlorine to allow it to be stored without allowing "stuff" to grow. I never put well water in my tank. Dump it when I winterize and sanitize the system in the Spring

Well since we are in a very serious drought out here on the left coast; even up in the mountains where I live, the thought of just dumping gallons and gallons of water out down the drain or driveways, etc. makes a lot of us here cringe. I understand if your rig is going to be sitting for a while (months) or for the winter, but even then, when I come back from trips and have extra water I drain the tank using 5 gallon pails and water the yard with them. I also put a 5gal bucket in the shower in the stick house and collect the water while it it getting hot for the same reasons.

Guess my main thing is please try to not waste water..

We leave ours full through the season. We have a well so we add an ounce or so bleach to help it keep. It also serves as backup in case our power or well pump goes out (has come in handy.

Unfortunately, we now have it drained as we're expecting some snow tonight (and for a few months).

X2 on the wasting of water. We also do the same as you are doing. We only use the water for showering and the toilet, so I don't always dump the fresh water tank every time. JMO

I fill my water tank before a trip. I have a water softener and installed a outside faucet for filling the RV. When I get back from a trip I drain what's left.

If the campground is on city water I will use it. If it's on a well or I wonder about the quality I use my water tank.

The last thing I need while camping is 3 Collies or myself with a case of the trots.

I fill in the beginning of the season, usually Feb or March, and drain at the end around Nov.
