Many, many years ago, when first starting out with an old 68 StarCraft popup, pulled with a 72 Ford LTD sedan (this was in the early 80s) we camped at Pawnee Campground in the Roosevelt National Forest near Brainard Lake west of Ward, CO at an elevation of 10,400. Beautiful late August weekend, perfect for camping at elevation. Until evening. The winds came up and started howling, and kept increasing during the night. The end of our popup was bouncing up and down all night long, and the whole trailer was shaking, making for an extremely stressful night, wondering if that little popup was going to make it. When dawn finally came and the winds had died down, we went outside to assess the damage (there wasn't any, fortunately) but the ground around us was covered in several inches of scree snow that had been blown off the mountains to the west of us. Scared the whoosis out of us!!
BTW, those are really AWESOME pics above!!!
