For years, it was Red Mountain, El Mirage, Stoddard Wells, Lucerne...For the past 20 years though, it's been the sand dunes of Glamis. Sand doesn't hurt quite so much when you go down!!4x4van wrote:
For the first time in at least 30 years, spent Thanksgiving at home rather than in the desert with the bikes/SxSs. Most of our group were going different directions this year, so the change was necessary. Gotta admit, it was nice not having to fight Thanksgiving traffic on the way home!!!
Where do you like to ride?
We like Spangler, Red Mountain, El Pasos area. - dedmistonModerator

- ferndaleflyerExplorer IIIGot back from WV today--Bambi survived. Need to stay here in NC for the week and will venture North the next for a few days then back South. Fuel pretty high in WV.
- JRscoobyExplorer IIContinued our traditions; Stopped by the Cat with all the extra food and the 4 extra Dutch Ovens, and played Alice's Restaurant on the way to campground.
- We had to cancel our reservation for this week because of some health issues. I’ve put the Montana to bed for the winter, and will use the next 4 months to plan next year’s adventures.
- ferndaleflyerExplorer IIIIn WV deer hunting. Had dinner today with my 3 sisters and 1 brother. We will go to NC Monday then MD then back to NC.
- valhalla360NavigatorTrailer is put to bed for the winter at a friends in Montana. We'll pick her up in the spring before heading to Alaska.
Heading to Bangkok today. Not turkey but the food is so good. - Matt_ColieExplorer IIWe aren't going anywhere.
We are having a friend couple in for the dinner and a single friend. I like that a lot. During the years I was forced to be on the move, I was often invited to some family's celebratory dinner and appreciated it. So, we have often invited people we know to join us as well. Some where in my travels, I read of a culture that always sets an extra place at the table just in case someone should show up. I love the sentiment.
We never even hear from the son and family.
Our daughter's family is entertaining her in-laws again this year, so we will have only friends (whose three sons - two are deployed and the other is a first responder in the local big city) to join us.
That works for me.
