Which one would you pick?

I have the front loader in my house - no mold problems whatsoever because I follow the directions and dry it out and leave the door cracked open after use. Clothes get much cleaner, less detergent and water is used, and overall I love it!

I've seen the All-in-Ones in several apartments of friends, children even grandchildren - and almost no one is happy with them.

Now, I know they come in different versions. The models I see in RV parks seem to be larger and heavier built than the apartment ones.

I see on the Lowe's web site that GE & Frigidaire make a 3.2 cu ft Washer/5.9 cu ft Dryer model - while Whirlpool makes a 1.5 cu ft Washer/3.4 cu ft Dryer combo.

The smaller unit certainly isn't built to withstand as much as the larger unit.

Another question - how is the dryer mounted? In an RV it is going to be subject to much higher stress on the mounting as the rig goes down the road.

Front load. And you can soak things in a front loader. It has a soak setting. Be sure to use HE detergent and very little at that. I wish I had stackables rather than the Splendide.

I've got the Splendide 2100XC and I can wash and dry waaay more than you described, plus it dries pretty quickly also.

I have the Bosch Axxis washer and dryer units....the best by far ! Front loading, water conserving and even at 110V the dryer works great.

Dick_B: Why does a front load use less water?
Why are they "more stable" for an RV?
As for the expense they are about the same ($500 +$500 or $1000 for the all-in-one

I was just wondering why you don't really see the all-in-one units in RV's. Most of the campgrounds I've been to use the all-in-ones and people beat the heck out of them and they seem to hold up to that abuse. My thinking is that the 2 piece units must be easier to get in and out of small spaces.

In addition to allowing things to pre-soak two things that I think would be in favor of the all-in-one unit are:
a) the washer door doesn't need to swing out in a small spot like in the front loader
b) you can't really stop a front loader in mid-cycle if you needed to

I wonder if Sears will honor the warranty if it gets installed in an RV?

My brother had a THAT in his condo. One thing to consider is when 1/2 dies beyond repair, you have to replace the whole thing. yes, he had to replace the whole thing because washer died. (I don't know how old it was... it was in Condo when he purchased, and he used it probably 10 years before it died)

Wow. I would pay big money for THAT! Where can I get a THAT? I've heard so much about mold and fungus growing in the front load washers because there isn't any air movement for drying out.

Anyway... I've never had a THIS. Using less water would be a plus, but I've only heard about the mold problems. Maybe someone can set me straight.

Another good thing about a THAT... You can take the clothes out of the dryer and have a place on top of the washer to fold them. (Yes, I do have a THAT - but full size in our S&B and I love it.)
