Microwave communication dishes are painted routinely. Not metallic paint of course. To prove it to yourself do a before and after signal strength test. Find your weakest signal and compare it. As a telecommunication tech with 40 yrs in the field I would not hesitate to paint mine.

Mine was a KVH and I painted it with non-metallic paint and it worked the same, now going on 9 years. Winegard may be different.

I agree that painting the dome would degrade the strength of the signal getting through .... we wash ours and wipe it down with 303 or Protect All

You should not paint the dome. Wash and wax.
