- sonicsixExplorerI prefer warm places myself. Currently in Alabama and it is mild here, but can get below freezing. Enjoy your stay in the Sunshine state!

Hot and humid, no thanks. You can always put on more clothes to keep warm, there's a limit to how many you can take off.
Yup in "summer" that is the case. Worse as you go further south.
But it matters WHERE you stay in Florida for the winter. It's a very long state!
I finally found a real sweet spot here, as many others have and that is Central, north central Florida. In the winter months there is zip zero humidity. Where I am at there are also zip and zero mosquitoes during any of the seasons!
And albeit the born and raised Floridians in this area are sporting boots and winter coats during this time.....I find the days of 70+ and the nights in the 60's and 50's no humidity pure heaven. :C
Yes occasionally we have a couple of nights during winter of freezing temps at night, but to a Northerner the joke of that is, is the temps don't drop when the sun goes down like up north.
The temps only drop for 'one or two hours right before sunrise'! That blew me away the first time I realized that. And then the sun comes up and its back to the 70's 80's! THAT sure doesn't happen up North. :W - mike-sExplorerHot and humid, no thanks. You can always put on more clothes to keep warm, there's a limit to how many you can take off.
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIYeah, I could handle Arizona in the winter.
- Us_out_WestExplorerThis was the last time with snow...2007.
Ever since it's been SW Arizona.
Hopefully there will be many more winters like that. - slickest1ExplorerWe just went through over a week of -20 deg Celcius wind chill and over a foot of snow on the south coast of BC. (Not that bad considering what others have)
It doesn't normally get that cold here.
We can't go south this year so shoveling it will be. I keep thinking Global Warming, Global Warming, Global Warming!!
To all in the south enjoying the warm weather ENJOY and best of the season. - rockhillmanorExplorer

OK - I'll admit that we are "Fair Weather Floridians" - this picture pretty much sums it up;
:B - GoPackGoExplorerWho says we don't have seasons in Florida - We have Pre-summer, Summer, and finally Post-summer !
I do miss the snow - nothing more beautiful then a fresh snowfall. But I don't miss the below zero temperatures, and I especially don't miss the endless grey, dreary days that seemed to start in November and didn't go away until sometime near the end of March.
Winter lasts way too long up north. There is a lot to be said for 80 degree temps, green grass and palm trees and munching shrimp and sipping umbrella drinks at the local tiki hut while watching the sun set out over the Gulf. - Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer IIOK - I'll admit that we are "Fair Weather Floridians" - this picture pretty much sums it up;
The moment it gets too "bite-y" down here with alligators, snakes, sharks - and all the scary stuff in the water goes into full bloom, we RUN back to Michigan...LOL! - dodge_guyExplorer II

I'll be waiting for the rocket launch tomorrow - sweating in the 84-degree heat. My kids have been sending pictures of the beautiful snow in Michigan - I DO miss it - but not enough to go back and shovel it....
X2
If you buy a house down here they offer free lifetime snow removal!
This is an ACTUAL sign just north of Leesburg going into the Villages! Made me laugh so hard when I saw it and just had to pull over and take a picture of it! :B
It`s not free! its costing you $89,900 for it! costs me $6 a year in gas for the $300 snowblower! besides when its all said and done your still in Florida. yes it is beautiful. but I`de rather just visit. :B
