Last weekend I went into my trailer for the first time in probably 2 weeks. I was going to spend the night since DS was having 4 (!!) friends over. In the morning when I got up, there were probably 20 or so worms in the bathtub, bathroom and all over the floor of the trailer. UGH!! I am POSITIVE they weren't there the night before. So I picked them up & threw them out and then got the indoor bug spray and sprayed the baseboards, in the tub & toilet, and on the floor. The next day or two I checked and a few more were on the floor but were dead. Then three days later I went into the trailer and now I had worms in 2 of my LIGHT FIXTURES!!!One in the bathroom and one above my bed but in the same line as the bathroom one. These fixtures do NOT leak and do not have water in them, and during this time I've had 6" of rain in 2 days.These are the worms up close:They're about 1" long, dull blackish, & no legs. What the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks are these things????

Those aren't worms...they are some kind of larvae...probably moths or butterflies.I'm not showing this post/pictures to my wife or we might never go camping again...:E

Not worms but insect larva. Someplace, some type of bug laid eggs in your RV. In time, they will start to swarm then you will be better able to identify them. :B. Odds are the bugs are not deadly.If there is an Ag. Extension service around, capture some of the creatures and take them over. They might be able to identify them.Have fun.

Well I stayed this past weekend in the trailer & saw NO more worms/larvae/whatever than those I dumped out of the light fixtures on Friday. When I sprayed the trailer I sprayed the HECK out of the floor, but not the ceiling of course. I did examine the bed,sheets, and blankets pretty good before I got in bed though-LOL!

Looks like Black Fly larvae. Seen any large Black Flies lately?

Yup bug larva. fumigate, clean and forget. I am sorta jealous though being a fisherman. How wonderful to find a bait factory right at your feet. LOL Be bought a garage sale rug and, even after power washing, they hatched from the fibers. Yeah Gross

I had this exact same thing happen in our Keystone travel trailer. They appeared a month after we bought it. We had a professional pest control person treat the camper but 8 weeks later and they are still hatching. I am curious to know where you bought your camper to see if this might be related. Our rv dealer refuses to help and I need a way to resolve this. Thanks for the info.

Yes, I looked up Black Soldier Flies. The ones I found are the 2nd life stage of the fly. Luckily, IF I have mature flies, they aren't dirty and don't sting or bite. People pay good money for these larvae. And to think I just killed them......

Hold the phone on this one!! Yikes. I feel for ya, I sure would be freaking out a bit with those suckers showing up in odd places.
hopefully you will get cleaned out soon and be done with that!

My question is: how did they get IN the light fixtures? There's no entry from the roof or I'd have leaks. And they couldn't get OUT. I'm NOT tearing into my roof to find out.

No dead body smell (aka mice or rats); no evidence of flies, just a large waterbug killed by the spray. No compost heaps where I park (my driveway). Last place we camped before this weekend was Hot Springs AR the first week in August. But I'm sure their incubation period is less than 7 weeks.

They are fly larva. Most likely black soldier flies. The little point at the end is the head. If indeed they are black soldier flies, they usually require decaying organic material to lay their eggs. You might want to make sure you don't have any compost piles near the RV. Their preferred hang out is compost piles.
