I rode motorcycles for 12+ years and in Oregon you can pump your own gas if on an MC. Most every attendant didn't want to get the pump handle anywhere near my gas tank.

Was there back in 2011, and couldn't believe they don't let you pump your own. Luckily we were just passing through, and didn't need any gas, just the restrooms. I remember thinking at the time, how do I know who I'm handing my keys (locking gas cap/filler door) or cash/credit card to, when someone dressed casually walks up to my window and asks "fill 'er up?". There were at least a dozen young folks hanging around the pumps, and they all looked like they might be pump jockeys. I'm pretty sure they weren't.
I just open the gas door and put the credit card in the pump. All they required was they handle the nozzle.

However, you can pump your own diesel. As an previous 18 year resident, I was surprised when I was in Oregon in 2016 with my diesel pickup, that I waited at the pumps not wanting to get into "trouble" when the guy came up and said "You can pump your own diesel in Oregon". Oh, ok, news to me.

You are allowed to pump diesel but not Gas? I guess they felt only truckers would need to and they were skilled and smart enough to handle the 100 year old technology..

What do these people do when they go to another state or maybe they donโt. Not only could they not pump their own gas, they most likely couldnโt find their way home.
