Favorite spots in Midwest?

Greetings! Have been scouring the web looking for the right suggestions. I know someone here can help!

My travelling crew is me (I'm the momma), my mom and my five kids. We've been camping for four years now, on our second trailer and expanding our horizons. A couple of my kids have some special needs and we've been building up our travel distance tolerance over the years. I'm trying to plan our week long camp trip this summer but honestly can't decide where and feel like I'm running out of time? Our travel tolerance this summer we figure is anywhere from six to eight hours.

We're leaving from the NE ohio area and going the week before July 4th a Sunday to Sunday trip. I've thought of places like Gettysburg, Wisconsin Dells, Smokies (DollyWood)but I'm not sure. I'm willing to go some place for a few days then move on to a final destination.
Any suggestions?

Cleveland to Pigeon Forge TN is just under 9 hours (3 routing possibilities come up on Google Maps). Dollywood is a very family-friendly place to go. Lots of other shows and activities in Pigeon Forge. Just minutes down the road, you can visit Great Smoky Mountain NP, and maybe go as far as Gatlinburg.

Niagara Falls would be a reasonably short drive, but you may have already done that. Adirondack Mountains (upstate NY) has all sorts of things to do (or at least did decades ago when I grew up in Buffalo).

Have you considered Cedar Point? The roller coaster champion of the world! Hope it is not too intense for some of your brood.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I'm thinking more trips are in our future! By summertime kids will range from 9 months to 12yo. Thier not picky about spots as long as the campground has a pool and a basketball hoop. We've done everything from the nature sights to the man-made sites (e.g., museums, science centers, etc.). As with any childhood experience we're out to make memories! Camping has been a great adventure for our family and momma is ready for a little longer trip!

Have you considered Branson, MO at all? The Wilderness Campground has a shuttle service to Silver Dollar City. There is plenty to do in Branson. We normally stay at Jellystone Branson but our kids are young and it's a bit off the main Branson path. But we really enjoy it and it's reasonable priced. Just a thought if you're considering something around there.
