Looking for campground or RV part in North Georgia area that would be fun for kids. This will be the kids first camping trip and we want them to have fun, without their Iphones or Playstations. LOL!

I've got a great one for you--Trackrock CG between Blairsville and Young Harris. It's about 10mi north of Vogel. We've been going up there for years and we're fixing to take our TT up there permanently.

Trackrock is a private CG. It is surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest, so it's quiet and heavily wooded. They have a lot of FHUs, as well as tenting area with W&E.

Now for the kids...Your kids will LOVE this place! There are two well-kept playgrounds, fire rings, a game room/TV room, horseback riding, a small lake for swimming, a cool creek, and on Fri/Sat they have a hay ride. There is plenty of room for the kids to ride bikes, run and play. They sell firewood and ice cream at the Talking House (office.) This is not your parking-pad resort. Some of the sites can be uneven, which is to be expected--it's on the side of a mountain! But we have never had a real issue with that. I bet we've been here almost 100 times over the last 15 years, so obviously we are crazy about Trackrock.

Oh, and if you do go there be sure you take the kids to see the track rock nearby. This area was an Indian crossroads. Its a little hike, not too strenuous but not handicapped accessible. Well worth the hike. Not too far away is Brasstown Bald, the highest point in GA. There is a trail that you can hike up to the top, but let me warn you it's just about straight up. We did it...once...At the top there is a neat museum and movie. They have a shuttle you can take to the top for a small fee (I haven't done it in awhile so I don't know what it costs now, but probably not much.) Helen is about 30 miles away, too. Blue Ridge is about 30 miles west and you can ride the train up to McCaysville on the state line GA/TN.

Look up Helen Ga. Haven't been in a while but my kids liked it at about the same age as yours.

Decided to go to Stone Mountain this trip. Thinking about Vogel and the mountains when it warms up some.

Vogel State Park. Creeks to wade in, hiking, biking, lake swimming, long hike in the woods to a waterfall. Our grandkids loved it.

James H. Sloppy Floyd State Park is a great state park. They have an awesome campground, kid friendly with a good playground. The lake has fishing as well as paddleboats and ducks to feed. My kids grew up going there and they loved it!

Ft. Mountain or Vogel or any of the state parks? Lots have canoe and paddle boat rentals. Some have mini golf. All have some sort of hiking or mountain bike trails.
