Recommendation for RV park South of Fort Worth Tx

We finally made it to Dallas after years of planning. I've had my Chevy Suburban for a week now and have adapted to driving on the right side, with the help from a GPS, man the highways here are crazy!
We pick up our TT tomorrow and will be heading South from Fort Worth, any recommendations for a good friendly RV park heading South. And while I'm at it our next stop is Houston, so any good ones there as well?
Cheers Mik
  • North of Houston we like Rayford Crossing in Spring Texas. Depends on what type of park you're looking for. Rayford Crossing is a nice commercial park with paved sites and lots of amenities. Cagle Recreation area at New Waverly exit off I-45 has full hookups and gets good reviews.
We use www.woodalls.com to locate campgrounds and then check them on www.rvparkreviews.com before we go.
www.recreation.gov is also a good place to find reasonably priced camping. Again, check them on www.rvparkreviews before going. Enjoy your travels!
  • Huntsville state park is nice as is Rayford crossing in the woodlands Just north of houston
  • In the Dallas/Fort Worth area we love Lewisville Lake and the army corps park called Hickory Creek. In Houston we stay in the Thousand Trail on Lake Conroe. You can stay there without a memebership.
  • Welcome to Texas the land of highway construction. Depending on your preferences but we generally stay at state parks. The website has a map of all the parks. When choosing a private park we use woodalls.com. We have enjoyed Mill Creek Ranch Resort in Canton, Texas many times. Not on your way if you are taking 45 to Houston. There is a state park off of 45 we have enjoyed but for the life of me I can't remember. It has the steam engine train going to it. When i find the name I will post.
