Monitor / cameras

Wife wants a camera that she can monitor the dogs (elderly) while we are away from the camper. They stay in a crate, but she wants to know if they start barking, fighting (very rare) or crying. We had a wifi camera but it's old and not reliable. What is out there that you've used and are happy with? Wifi or cellular?
  • We use Guardzilla. Bought from Best Buy. You need wifi for it to work. We use Verizon myfi for internet WiFi.

You can view, listen and talk. Been using it for 2 years now and it works great. Down load app on your phone.
  • Guardzilla is what we have, about 6 years old, can't rely on it. Sometimes it works (rarely) sometimes it doesn't.
  • We have one of these cameras and I even set it up myself. It has a good lens and can see in the dark. The camera is fixed but has a wide view.

We also have four Foscam tilt/swivel cameras but I needed to hire a computer guy to set them up.

The only time ours gave us trouble when in Yellowstone. Cell phone service was limited.

Ours is going on 4 years now.
  • As far as the Simplisafe or the Guardzilla, will either work on the campgrounds public wifi? assuming of course the signal is available.

Probably but I would not rely on it
  • From surveillance monitors to motion detectors, activity monitors, automatic feeders, pet collar cameras, and even smartphone-controlled toys, there’s no shortage of options for keeping tabs on your pup (and keeping him entertained) while you’re away from home.
