- OasisbobExplorerWell that's one for the books. Time to make driving gloves of that cat.
- amandasgrammaExplorerI've raised cats for over 60 yrs......with my babies in the house and had a day care in my home. NEVER did I have a cat act that way. !) the cat scratched the baby.....what did the baby do to the cat? 2) The man admits he kicked the cat.......I believe he's abused the cat far worse. My personal opinion. The cat reacted as is their nature when a cat is frightened or believes it's in danger.
- turbopilot51ExplorerI think the guy needs to give up his man card. Really, a cat keeps your family scared behind closed doors? There would be one less cat in my house.:S
- Pawz4meExplorerI can't help but believe that the whole thing was a wee bit of an over-reaction on the man's part (and that's an under statement).
ALL the reports I've heard or read either say the baby was not injured or that it was a *very* minor scratch. And none of the reports indicate the authorities had much of a problem capturing the cat.
The whole thing kind of reminds me of the people who call 911 because the drive thru got their order wrong. - Sue_BeeExplorer

In my point of view, reading the story, there would be one less male in my house, and it wouldn't be the cat getting walking papers.
In all reality, I hope that some reliable rescue organization steps forward and offers to remove the cat, it obviously isn't a good environment if the cat is that hostile. - Code2HighExplorerThey showed the baby's injuries on the news last night. A couple of miniscule marks on the head. Now....it could have been worse, surely, and they need to better supervise the two or find the cat a safer place to live.
But under no circumstances is kicking a cat that is scratching child or has scratched a child, an appropriate or acceptable response. - vickiebecExplorerIf I was kicked in the butt I would fight back too. Oasisbob its obvious you don't like cats why are you surfing the pet section.
- BarbiOExplorerI have had pets my entire life and was scratched and bit occasionally when I was younger. My mother always realized it was because I had done something to the animal. If you have a small child they need to be monitored with your pets and taught how to treat them to avoid injuries.. I figure anyone who resorts to violence toward an animal might resort to violence toward a child if a child misbehaves.
