Pet safety idea

I wear an interactive RoadID bracelet for my emergency information. On the website accessed by emergency personnel I have the description and license number of my motorhome with a note that I travel with a cat and my motorhome can be found in a nearby RV Park. If I remember I do list the name and address of the RV park and the dates I am staying. I ask that if I am unable, that they make arrangements to care for the cat. It gives a great peace of mind to know all my emergency info is readily available. RoadID Website

We have neighbors who look after the at home pets when we go on extended trips. We contact them at scheduled times to let them know we're okay.

I agree, there should be some way of taking care of pets at the RV should we get into an accident. Dogs will howl but cats may not make a sound for days.

BTW, forestry is a managed crop, there are more trees today in north America then when Columbus landed.

Perhaps I should have said "the landfill police" instead of "tree huggers". My point was something written on a map is very likely to be overlooked as just scrap paper in a car that has been totaled in a wreck or would be sitting unnoticed in your car if you have a medical episode in a mall. Notes on a map are a poor substitute for a something you would carry with you at all times.

So then all pet owners should carry this with them regardless of whether or not they RV?

BTW, forestry is a managed crop, there are more trees today in north America then when Columbus landed.

But why wouldn't carrying the first map do the same thing? Or better yet, just have a laminated card in your possession stating something like: "We live in our RV. In case of an accident, please be aware we travel with pets that stay in the RV while we are in our car." Emergency responders would be more likely to find that than interpret what was written on what they would assume is a scrap of paper in your auto, plus it would be on your person should you drop dead while walking around Walmart.
As a bonus, It's a little thing, but the "Save the Earth" folks might frown on using more pieces of paper than you really need.

I suppose if you carried it with you and got hurt it would let the first responders know that there was a pet at home.

Double ditto. What do you do with it?

I assume you would leave it at the office.

We picked up signs many years ago that are affixed to our RV.

To me, this would be a better option. This would preclude the need to go to the office to find out if there's an animal inside should there be an emergency.
