Slipping feet

Interesting idea. We have a collection of runners and area rugs that we strategically place at home and in the RV with our geriatric guys. They learn pretty fast to walk on the rugs rather than the slick floors.

Many of the newer RVs have very little or no carpeting. I get that it's really easier to keep clean and wears longer than carpet, but it's not a good thing for any of our dogs, young or especially the old ones.

A friend of ours (a vet) uses these on her oldest dog and there was an immediate attitude change in her old dog due to better footing.

X2 And the rugs can easily shook out or vacuumed.

Our former Class C had linoleum in the "hallway" at the foot of the bed. I could see that the dogs jumping off the bed were going to land on the slippery surface, so I put a small rubber-back bathroom rug as sort of a landing pad.

Eons ago, my best friend had a wonderful sheltie that was very close to her UDX (high-level obedience). They had rented an RV of some sort - all I remember was my friend calling in tears because the dog had jumped off a bed and slipped on the linoleum and hurt her back - enough so that her competing days were ended.

I won't let my seniors jump in/out of car or off anything. I had to use carpet to cover the kitchen floor during Sadie's last weeks.

I use throw rugs in the RV that can be washed.

Our senior boxer, Jackson, is getting to the point of losing traction. He tries to run across our laminate floor, but ends up looking like a character in a cartoon running in place. It's time for me to put runners down for him from his bed to the back door. On carpet and in the yard, he's fine.

I use them routinely with my poodle. They give him just enough traction on the tile floor. They are easy to put on, and, yes, he immediately feels more secure.

Is there some kind of adhesive or do they just slide on? The dogs don't try to pull them off with their teeth? Our old vet had a highly polished, dark vinyl floor in his waiting room. I've seen some dogs get to the doorway and stand there and bawl, so I can appreciate the usefulness.

We keep runners in our MH for the dogs, too..

What if the dog eats it? Is it digestible?

Just watching my kin folk's back is all.
